WordPress v2.0.7 Released

WordPress v2.0.7 is now available for download just days after the controversial released of its v2.0.6 which contains some bugs on certain PHP versions and feedburner issue. The new version promises to fix the bugs that was brought about by v2.0.6. WordPress recommends to their user who are currently using version 2.0.6 or lower to upgrade to the new version.

WordPress v2.0.7 is a much smaller update compared to its older version. This new version does not require users to upgrade all their files if their updating from v2.0.6.

The files that have changed since the released of v2.0.6 are:

-wp-admin/inline-uploading.php
-wp-admin/post.php
-wp-includes/classes.php
-wp-includes/functions.php
-wp-settings.php
-wp-includes/version.php

WordPress also apologizes to their users for releasing a new version in such a short period of time but they stressed out the importance of a secure blog.

Here are the changes that have been made since 2.0.6:

-Security fix for wp_unregister_GLOBALS() to work around the zend_hash_del_key_or_index bug in PHP 4 versions less than 4.4.3 and PHP 5 versions less than 5.1.4 with register_globals set to “On.”

-Feeds now properly serve 304 Not Modified headers instead of mismatched 200/304 headers (a.k.a. the FeedBurner bug).

-Backport of another 304 Not Modified fix from WordPress 2.1

-Deleting WordPress Pages no longer gives an “Are You Sure?” prompt.

-After deleting a WordPress Page, you are now properly redirected to the Edit Pages screen.

-Sending an image at original size in Internet Explorer no longer adds an incorrect “height” attribute.

They also announce the release of their major version Worpress 2.1 which is due at the end of the month.
